Sigurþór Jakobsson (1942) studied at The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and typesetting at Gutenberg State Printing Office 1959-1963. After graduating as a printer from Reykjavik Technical College in 1963 he went to London and studied visual arts from 1965-1968. As a typesetter Sigurþór was also engaged in advertising illustration or graphic design and worked freelance on book design projects for years. Sigurþór has held quite a few private exhibitions and his works are owned by individuals and galleries in Iceland.
