Páll Guðmundsson (1959) is born at Húsafell in Borgarfjörður (in the western part of Iceland) and named himself after his birthplace. He studied at The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts 1977-1981 and The Fine Art Academy Cologne in West Germany 1985-1986 under the guidance of Professor Burgeff. Páll is a versatile artist – paints with oil and water colours, works with stone and ice lithography, and makes statues and sculptures from stone. On top of that, he is musical and, among other things, plays a homemade stoneharp he has built himself as well as writing music. His works have been exhibited extensively, at solo and collective exhibitions, and he has received numerous awards for his artwork.
